I wish I could help you but I have not seen or heard from Fred since I
left Jamaica in 1978. At that time he was looking for the vector of
lethal yellowing, a disease of coconuts. That disease reached the
north coast of Honduras in 1996 and when I was there as an advisor in
2001, I mentioned Fred's research, and was surprised to be told that I
might have been quite near him when I had gone to Limon. Apparently
he was farming in that district - but presumably not coconut palms or
I might have met him then. The Hondurans I was with said they would
try to contact him but I never heard if they had been successful.
I will post a copy of this email to the Centre for Information on
Coconut Lethal Yellowing (CICLY)
in the hope that someone
reading it can help.

I am an old friend of Fred Eskafi's and have been trying to locate
him by various means. I saw that you made reference to his work on an
entomology website. If you know where he is, could you kindly forward
him this email? Thanks in advance!
