"UNESCO Small Island Voice Celebrates a Job Well Done

In celebration of a successful year, the UNESCO Small Islands Voice
(SIV) Coordinating Committee chartered a catamaran cruise through Blue
Water Safaris on June 9, 2007 to thank its coordinating partners and
The purpose of the trip was not only a celebration but an opportunity
to see the environmental impact of development on the coast line of
St. Kitts and Nevis.

The need for appropriate methods of development on the land for the
protection of our marine life was well illustrated. The alarming
effects of the lethal yellowing disease on the coconut palms in Nevis
were also seen.
